Year in Review

Greetings and best wishes as the Gregorian year winds-down. Seems like the Northern Hemisphere has a distinct advantage since the holidays here match the seasons, but who am I to say? On that note, here’s a recap from my wandering in 2023. Look forward to connecting in 2024.

This recap of the year is, of course, different than everyone else’s. It is what I observed during various forays and from my perspective. Many of my days are spent in-front of the computer, addressing what seem like confounding problems but which can be solved expeditiously with a bit of resourcefulness.

When I did escape from my desk, during trips to downtown Seattle amongst the shoppers and junkies to longer road-trips along the West Coast, I observed and photographed both significant and trivial moments. I was motivated by trying to understand counter-cultures, enjoy the arts, accept and communicate about environmental issues, and highlight pertinent social issues.

Ultimately, this year, I was driven by the usual, a documentary impulse. All-in-all, I had a bit of luck and also worked almost non-stop. Here’s to some rest and more efforts on the flip-side.
