Winter Timber
I’m traveling from Seattle to the Olympic Peninsula, south to Portland, and along the rivers that flow west in the foothills of the Cascades. It’s a warm beginning of March and I’ve been thinking about the complexity of managing forests. The forests are infinitely complicated but easy to oversimplify.
Oregon Stories
I grew-up in Oregon and often return. The state has a diverse topography but is often associated with the now-threatened, lush-green forests.
Summer Trails
The summer of 2023 has continued to be a time of reflection. While smoky and hot on occasion, there have been stretches of pleasant days. I was able to navigate the highways and passes various times en route to new and familiar views.
