This is the Occupy Movement of 2011 in Seattle. The mortgage crisis was in full swing and the economy in tatters. Seattle was also experiencing the beginning of a local housing crisis, as properties were being foreclosed on and swooped up by investors. The city would never be the same.

The turn of the millennium wasn’t immediately climactic but the conflicts and technical disruption did eventually emerge. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were fully underway while domestic policies adapted post-9/11. Digital cameras were improving but far out-of-reach so I used slide film. It was slow and prohibitively expensive.
