This is the beat of the Seattle streets.
I’ve woven through the streets of Seattle for the past ten years, speaking with passersby, just nodding, or ignoring them completely, much as they do to me.
Sometimes I take a picture or two. This is a glimpse of public life in the thriving and troubled city. The city is a combination of scenic tranquility and a frenetic and pained underbelly.
While the technological giants dominate commerce much of the population keeps the lights on in public service, healthcare, or the service industry.
These are a few views of the city as it struggles and prospers, enjoined to its fate as a city on the horizon of the frontier, butted up against the ocean with nowhere to go.
