Chapare
I was traveling through South America during the summer of 2005, in awe of the diverse and complex cultures and studying themes that seemed important. The political struggles and indigenous issues struck a nerve. I heard an adage about revolution in Bolivia being more frequent than a record player.
I rode the bus into the Chapare region near Cochabamba. I found coca farmers fighting for their survival and had the opportunity and privilege to learn about the fortitude of their community deep in the jungle.
